The Dean of ICOTEA Tommaso Barone was born in Ragusa in 1972 and began his professional career in the field of training as an expert in Security and Workplace Training. Tommaso immediately understood the need to create a distance learning capable of supplying the formation gaps of companies and freelancers through training and updating courses.

In 1998 26-year-old Tommaso founded ICOTEA, a successful idea that has made the institute a leader in distance education services. Tommaso Barone is an expert in Workplace Security and training issues.

Tommaso Barone is also an expert consultant specialized in Workplace Health and Safety with a particular focus on the school field. In addition to consulting activities, Tommaso carries out professional training in schools, companies or through distance learning.

His professional career improved his expertise in the education sector. As a trainer in Safety, Tommaso Barone has also worked in the fields of agriculture, construction industry, food, naval and rail transport industry. His experience in such a wide range of fields is perfectly reflected in ICOTEA online learning college which offers innovative training services to public institutions, private companies and freelancers operating in various sectors.

His most recent and successful publication is entitled "l Lavoro Illuminato" (2016). After an introduction on the challenges that the globalized economy entails, the essay presents an articulated reflection on the new information technologies and distance education opportunities.
