Prof. Elena Livia
Professor Elena Livia teaches English and Spanish languages and literature. She is interpreter and translator in both languages. She has consolidated her excellent knowledge of these languages over the years. In fact, after earning a degree in the science of linguistic mediation at the University of Catania, she continued her university studies at the famous Ca' Foscari University of Venice, earning a master’s degree in interpreting and translation for publishing.
Prof. Elena Livia worked as an interpreter, receptionist and tourist operator at Club Med, and as a hostess, promoter, and foreign trader in a number of businesses. She also worked as a freelancer translator from English into Italian and vice versa, both in Malta and Italy, for businesses involved in the organisation of English language courses for Italian people and for the translation of the website InMalta from Italian into English.
She loves Spanish language and literature, she worked as translator for the Spanish publisher Ediciones B, dealing with the translation from Spanish into Italian of the bestseller “En un rincon del alma” (In un angolo dell’anima), written by Antonia J. Corrales.
Elena livia worked at Traducciones Castilla, a well-known translation agency in Valladolid and Salamanca (Spain), dealing with certified translations, simultaneous and whispered interpreting, both from Spanish into different languages and vice versa.
Thanks to her great organisational, managerial and computer skills Professor Livia dealt with the management of degrees, and the competitions section, at the administrative personnel department of Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
