National Council of Social Assistants

ordine assistenti sociali

The National Council of Social Assistants has included Icotea among the institutions authorized to provide training courses for social assistants, in accordance with the Regulations for their ongoing professional training.

Since January 1, 2014, all those enrolled in professional orders such as social assistants have the obligation to update and take part in training events related to their profession. The training courses for social assistants by Icotea are a valuable opportunity to fulfill this obligation, with the convenience of an e-learning platform, which allows distance participation in masters and advanced training courses, and a consequent saving of time and money.

Here is a list of ICOTEA courses that allow Social Workers to acquire the necessary credits:

  • Post-Graduate Course In Special Educational Needs (SEN), BES In Italian
  • Post-graduate course in criminal, juvenile, family and social mediation
  • Post Graduate Course In ABA Method For Autism
  • Post-Graduate Course in Family Mediation
  • Post-Graduate Course in Cultural Mediator
  • Course for Professional ethics for Social assistants
  • Post-Graduate Course In Specific Learning Disabilities – SLD
  • Post-graduate course in Mental disorder and Social reintegration
  • Training Course In Disability Management

The choice includes, first of all, the course of Professional Ethics for Social Assistants, which allows acquiring the 15 training credits necessary for the in-depth deontological study foreseen by the Order of Social Assistants. The course, in particular, aims to improve decision-making skills by strengthening the ethical assumptions of a profession that requires great awareness of its rights and duties, as well as knowledge of the main regulatory references.

Icotea’s training for social assistants is not limited, however, only to deontology. There are also other interesting courses to be considered, such as the Postgraduate Course in Criminal Juvenile, Family and Social Mediation (1500 hours), which provides the opportunity to specialise in the resolution of conflict situations, or the Postgraduate Course in Family Mediation (1500 hours).

In addition, social assistants can also access the Advanced Training Course, which provides training for staff dedicated to assisting people with physical and/or cognitive and mental disabilities. Finally, it is also possible to choose a course aimed at helping those with a learning disorder thanks to the Postgraduate Course in Specific Learning Disorders.
