But what does the Cultural Mediator do?
Knowing two languages, although essential, is not enough to be a Cultural Mediator.
To undertake this profession it is necessary to be knowledgeable about the customs, values and religious practices of the foreign native countries and to have a clear understanding of the socio-political scenarios of those countries.
A Cultural Mediator must also be well-informed about current immigration legislation and the procedures for obtaining authorizations and permits necessary to stay or possibly move within one or more countries.
How does one become a Cultural Mediator?
Today, the path to becoming a Cultural Mediator is not well defined as it is a relatively new figure.
