Legislative Decree 59/2017 reorganizes, adjust, and simplify the system of initial training and access of teachers in the school. Among the requirements for access to the teacher competition is a Master Degree or old system degree. In addition to the degree, it is necessary to have 24 ECTS obtained in compliance with the provisions of Ministerial Decree 616/2017, which establishes the disciplinary areas, the training objectives and the organizational procedures for the achievement of credits.
The admission requirements outlined in the decree include the need to earn ECTS to enter competitions in the following subject areas:
- Social pedagogy and Inclusive teaching (M-PED/03)
- Psychology (M-PSI/04)
- Anthropology (M-DEA/01)
- General educational and digital methodologies (M-PED/04)
The 24 ECTS may be acquired in curricular, adjunct, or extracurricular form.
ICOTEA, as a training organization accredited by MIUR, is authorized to issue ECTS following the standard to participate in school competitions.
